On 27 June 2009, Lion Aled Rowlands took over as President of Aberystwyth Lions at a ceremony performed at the Plas Antaron Hotel.

Lion Marie Therese, from Moku Lions Club, Mauritius, paid a vist to Aberystwyth Lions at the March meeting. Lion Marie, whose son lives in Aberystwyth was in this country to visit her son,wife and newly born grandaughter. She was warmly welcomed by members and provided an interesting account of various activities that Moku Lions are involved in. The photograph shows Lion Vice President Aled and Lion Marie Therese exchanging Club Banners during the meeting. The club presented her with a cheque for £100 to assist with fundraising activities in Mauritius.

Presentations to the Beacon of Hope charity who were raising funds for a specialist wheelchair under the Huw Edwards Appeal, and to the 3rd Aberystwyth Scouts were made at the April Business Meeting.

Award to Beacon of Hope Charity |
|
|
|
|
At the September Dinner Meeting, a cheque for £3,650 was presented to the Beacon of Hope Charity, who are based at Aberystwyth, for the purpose of funding a "Hospice at Home" nurse for the Ceredigion area. The nurses provide nursing services to seriously ill and terminally ill patients in their home by providing night and day care to those who require it.
The photograph below shows Ingrid Evans, a Hospice at Home nurse with the Beacon of Hope, receiving the cheque from Lion President Vikki and Health and Welfare Chairman Lion Gareth Hughes.
