Shout update: 28th July 2008
Lifeboat launched to 'canoe' in trouble off Clarach. Canoe turned out to be lifeguard on board off the beach, patrolling. Lifeboat stood down and shout classed as false alarm with good intent.

Whilst out on Sunday morning exercise the lifeboat was asked to tow a Yacht back to Aberystwyth Harbour that had suffered engine failure.

Shout update: 4th June 2008
A 30' fishing vessel, grounded itself on the rocks at Wallog. The lifeboat was requested and soon arrived on scene. The boat was stuck fast with a dropping tide and decided to sit it out and wait for the tide to rise before floating off. Lifeboat was released back to station. This brings the total number of shouts in '08 to 23

The lifeboat was launched today to go and rescue a small motor boat, which had suffered engine failure 1 mile off the entrance to Aberystwyth Harbour. This brings the total number of shouts in '08 to 22

The lifeboat crew had another busy day with two shouts today. The first early afternoon was a report of 3 people in the water. When lifeboat arrived, they had swam to shore and dissapeared, leaving their inflatable behind. That evening the lifeboat was again tasked , but this time to assist two people who had been cut off by the tide. Bringing the total number of shouts in '08 to 21

Shout update: 16th May 2008
Lifeboat crew were paged after a student sailing dinghy trailer was found on the slipway with no dinghy visible out at sea. Dinghy was found in shed safe and well before lifeboat was launched.

Another 3 shouts today when the lifeboat launched in the afternoon and the evening to assist with inflatable dinghys that were being blown out to sea. The lifeboat was also tasked later in the evening to do a shoreline search for a missing person, who was found safe and well inland. Bringing the total number of shouts in '08 to 18

4 Shouts in 2 hrs Lifeboat was originally tasked to assist a capsized sailing dinghy off Castle Rocks. Whilst returning to station lifeboat was tasked a further two times to go and assist inflatables being blown out to sea. Just as lifeboat being rehoused, tasked to go and assist further inflatables drifting out.

Shout update: 20th April 2008
Lifeboat rescued small inflatable RIB, that had lost all engine power. Boat was towed into harbour and although well prepared with radio, flares and suitable clothing the two occupants were given advice by the Lifeboat crew and Coastguards on maintenance of their engine. This event shows that even the best prepared people can get into trouble on the sea, and require the volunteers that man the lifeboats to rescue them.

Shout update: 17th April 2008
Lifeboat rescued Student Sailing Dinghy that had capsized. Crew were bought ashore after spending some time in water, dinghy was then recovered by lifeboat.

Today the lifeboat was launched on its 3rd shout of the year to go and rescue two people cut off by the tide North of Clarach. Assisted by Borth Lifeboat the two male casualties were safely taken to Aberystwyth harbour.

Shout update: 14th Feb 2008
The first shout of 2008, turned into 2 shouts when the University Sailing club took to the water with no safety boat. After towing in a tired crew from a dinghy that had capsized a number of times, the lifeboat also towed in another dinghy which had capsized as the lifeboat was getting ready to recover.
